Turmeric Latte


This Turmeric Latte, although wonderful to drink anytime during the year, is a great comforting drink during cold nights. Addition of nutmeg will help you to sleep better, and honey, turmeric, milk, and ginger are all natural medicines in our kitchen.

This is a great drink for all ages. Milk provides strength, nutmeg helps to sleep better, turmeric is anti-inflammatory and anti-septic, honey is rich in anti-oxidants and improves heart health. Ginger is the doctor of all foods - helps clean our mouth, helps with sore muscles, helps reduce nausea and arthritis are some of the many benefits of ginger.

 

 Serves: 2

Ingredients

1 cup water

1 Tablespoon fresh ginger, peeled and minced

1/2 teaspoon ground turmeric

1/2 teaspoon grated nutmeg

1 cup whole milk

1 Tablespoon honey

 

Method

In a medium pot over medium heat, boil water.

When the water has boiled, add ginger and cook for one minute. Cooking ginger in water will ensure that milk is not curdled.

Add turmeric, and grated nutmeg, and mix. Make sure there are no lumps.

Add milk and bring the mixture to a boil.

Remove from heat and stir in honey. We never boil honey as it can turn bad once cooked.

Strain in two cups and serve warm.
